Trending 7 years ago

My Ubuntu 16.10 uses i915 driver. For immoderate reasons I person troubles pinch it. So I want to unit X to usage VESA.

I tried:

  1. blacklist i915 successful /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf. Then sudo update-initramfs -u. Doesn't work.

  2. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet scatter modprobe.blacklist=i915" successful /etc/default/grub. Then update-grub2. Doesn't work

  3. Added caller record 20-foo.conf successful /usr/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d pinch content:

Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "vesa" EndSection

Doesn't work.

Guys, really connected nan Earth 1 could make an OS that requires specified an effort conscionable to move video driver? Maybe I'm doing thing wrong?
